Swade Appointed Chief Operating Officer for Jumeirah

Jumeirah Group has named Robert Swade as group CEO following Nicholas Clayton stepping down, who leaves the company on June 18th 2015.
Swade has been a backbone of the senior executive team ever since he joined Jumeirah Group in October 2005 as general counsel.
"I am delighted that Robert Swade has agreed to take on the role of group chief operating officer, a decision in line with our guiding principle of continued development," said Gerald Lawless, Jumeirah Group chief executive on this leadership change.
"In his new role, he will be in charge of our hotel and commercial operations, ranging from our managed properties in the UAE and internationall to, of course, our hotels in Dubai."
"Mr. Swade will also remain manager the development team as they continue to add to our portfolio of hotels.
"During the ten years he has been with the Jumeirah Group, Robert has shown passion, leadership and endless energy, all of which are qualities that drive our business forward.
"I would also like to thank Nicholas Clayton for his contribution to the Jumeirah Group over the last three years."
Jumeirah Group presently has a portfolio that includes 23 operating hotels, an additional 19 under development and a total of 70 under negotiation in the UAE, Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe for both the Jumeirah luxury brand and the new modern lifestyle brand Venu.
