Seychelles underlines its ties with South Africa

The Seychelles minister of tourism and culture alongside Air Seychelles chief executive have held a joint press conference in Durban, South Africa, on general aspects related Seychelles tourism and the approach on its relationship to South Africa.

The media representatives have been greeted by Miss Seychelles 2013 and two members from Air Seychelles cabin crew. The organizers for this event have been Marsha Parcou and David Germain, representing the Seychelles Tourism Board in South Africa and Cindy Vidot with Josie Michaud-Payet from Air Seychelles.

After the formal introduction held by the Seychelles Tourism Board director for Africa and the Americas, David Germain, the stage had been set for St. Ange who brought to the attention the main ideas and principles related to the Seychelles tourism industry and its relationship with the South African market.

The idea of a sustained friendship between the two entities has been underlined on several occasions.

“South Africa has been and remains an important target market for the Seychelles tourism industry.

“We welcome South Africans to our shores.

“You need no visa to land in Seychelles, a destination that is safe and where you will see many South African businesses are today well established in Seychelles.

“We are but some four hours away from South Africa and have for South African holiday makers the best in sun, sea and sand breaks, big game fishing, in sailing, in island hoping etc…”

“Our arrival figures from South Africa have been growing steadily and we count on you, our friends in there press, to increase the visibility of our mid-ocean islands to the population of South Africa,” Seychelles minister of tourism and and culture, Alain St Ange.

Manoj Papa, Air Seychelles representative has stressed the idea that a codeshare agreement will be issued between the airline he represents and South African Airways.

“We have made it easy for South African to travel to Seychelles.

“We have turned our airline around from one suffering from serious financial difficulties but a couple of years ago to a profitable airline nowadays.

“We are consolidating our network and will be flying to Paris France soon.

“We are also rebooking at introducing new regional routes in the near future,” – Manoj Papa, Air Seychelles chief executiveSeychelles
