Sabre and American Airlines signed agreement
American Airlines and Sabre Corporation implemented NDC technology standards through the launching of American’s Preferred and Main Cabin Extra Seats programme
Starting this February, the programme will be available to all American Airlines customers via travel agents using Sabre GDS technology. Preferred and Main Cabin Extra Seats offers clients more legroom, Group 1 Boarding and the possibility to choose preferred seats.
Cory Garner, managing director for distribution at American Airlines, stated:
“American Airlines customers love Main Cabin Extra and Preferred Seats, and we’re excited to have a new way to offer those seats to them through Sabre. This new capability of Sabre moves us closer to our longtime goal of offering our products through as many channels as possible.”
“Sabre and American Airlines have a long history of reaching innovative firsts together so it makes sense that we would cross this milestone together. Our Air Extras solutions offer airlines an opportunity to capture more revenue on ancillary products and support their omni-channel merchandising strategies,” added Sean Menke, president of Sabre Travel Network.
Sabre is the main provider of air tech solutions on the market, with more than 60 carriers and 435.000 travel agents generating billions of dollars in revenue by using its travel market services.
