Royal Caribbean Announces Transfer of Majesty of the Seas to Pullmantur  

 

Royal Caribbean Cruises has revealed that Majesty of the Seas will be transferred to its Pullmantur brand starting with 2016.

Majesty of the Seas' last three-night voyage for its current brand, Royal Caribbean International, will depart on April 29th, 2016.

After that, Majesty of the Seas will enter dry dock before joining Pullmantur's fleet, which will allow the ship to be modified to meet the brand standards and offerings of Pulmantur.

Richard Fain, chairman and chief executive officer of Royal Caribbean Cruises, said: "Majesty of the Seas has produced great memories for millions of travellers, and we are expecting that its successful record will continue when the cruise ship transitions to Pullmantur."

"The ship's transfer is a great business opportunity for both Pullmantur and Royal Caribbean.

"We feel privileged that our two brands allow us the opportunity and flexibility to increase the presence in key strategic markets."

Pullmantur's total passenger capacity will rise by more than 20 per cent once Majesty of the Seas will join its fleet.

"The transfer of Majesty of the Seas will be of crucial importance in Pullmantur’s Latin American growth strategy. It will help us become one of the best-known brands in that market," said Pullmantur’s president and chief executive officer, Jorge Vilches.

"The extra capacity will allow us to meet the always increasing demand for Pullmantur's unique Latin-style cruise holidays," he concluded.
