Qatar Airways has revealed it will begin servicing Abha in Saudi Arabia beginning September 2nd.
The non-stop flight from Doha to Abha will operate four times weekly.
The city of Abha is located in a southwestern province of Saudi Arabia and is rapidly gaining popularity as a tourist destination thanks to attractions such as its mild seasonal weather and fertile mountains.
At the moment, the carrier operates 82 weekly flights to seven major cities in Saudi Arabia.
Qatar Airways recently announced adding flights to Gassim, increasing their weekly services from eight to ten, beginning July 17th.
With the four weekly flights to Abha, Qatar Airways now offers 88 non-stop weekly flights to Saudi Arabia in cities such as Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, Gassim, Madinah, Al Hofuf and Ta'if.
Qatar Airways chief executive, Akbar Al Baker, said: "We have been steadily expanding our network in Saudi Arabia."
"As our eighth destination in Saudi Arabia, Abha will bring more flexibility for passengers seeking connections from Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.
"From Abha, travellers will have the chance to travel seamlessly through our Doha hub and beyond to popular cities such as London, Paris, New York, Washington, Bangkok and Singapore and will also offer passengers travelling to Saudi Arabia the opportunity of another gateway within the same country."
