Pepperclub named as a nominee for the World Travel Awards

Pepperclub Hotel & Spa has been nominated as Africa’s Leading City Hotel in the 2013 World Travel Awards. Now in its 20th year, the annual awards were established to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry.

Pepperclub Hotel & Spa has been nominated as Africa’s Leading City Hotel in the 2013 World Travel Awards.
Now in its 20th year, the annual awards were established to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry.
Nick Seewer, CEO of Pepperclub Hotel & Spa, says it is an honour for Pepperclub to be nominated as one of Africa’s Leading City Hotels. “Given that Pepperclub is the only independent South African hotel nominated in the category, it highlights how the hotel has established itself amongst its competitors since opening its doors in 2010.”
He explains that the African continent is a growing market for South Africa and that they hope to only further grow the hotel’s presence in the market. “South African Tourism reported an 8.5% increase in tourist arrivals from African countries for 2012 and as we head into the second half of 2013, the hotel is continuing to notice a growth in travelers from Africa, as well an increase in visitors from other emerging markets, such as Brazil and India, and traditional international markets.
Seewer says that the hotel’s independence has allowed them to adapt as they see fit to service this growing market. “This flexibility has certainly assisted us in achieving market share in Africa.”

In the Africa region, travel, tourism and hospitality companies from 31 countries will compete for the various accolades, which will be announced at a Gala Presentation Ceremony in Kenya in October 2013.
Other South Africa nominees in the category include: Hilton Durban, Sandton Sun and The Michaelangelo. The remaining nominees include: Alexandria, Four Seasons (Egypt), Conrad Cairo (Egypt), Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel, Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Fairmont The Norfolk (Kenya), Hemingways Nairobi (Kenya), Hyatt Regency Dar es Salaam, The Kilimanjaro (Tanzania), InterContinental Nairobi (Kenya), Kempinski Nile (Egypt), Nairobi Serena Hotel (Kenya) and Sheraton Montazah Hotel (Egypt).
