Pegasus Airlines Records Solid Growth in First Quarter

Pegasus Airlines has sustained double-digit growth numbers in the first quarter of 2015.
The Turkish airline transported 4.52 million guests in the first quarter of 2015, which translates to a year-on-year increase of 10.8 per cent. The seat capacity registered a 12.1 per cent increase over the same period of time, rising to a total of 5.81 million.
The number of passengers carried in domestic destinations was 2.86 million in the first three months, a 9.9 per cent increase over last year's 2.61 million, while 1.65 million passengers travelled on international flights – a 12.4 per cent year-over-year increase.
Pegasus, which is Turkey's fastest growing airline, now has a network that expanded to 89 destinations from the 80 it had same time last year.
Pegasus Airlines general manager, Sertac Haybat, said: "After a year of continuous prosperity, we ended 2014 with growth in double-digit figures. This year has been just as dynamic so far."
"Turkey's General Directorate of State Airports Authority released figures for the first quarter confirming there has been a 7.7 per cent growth in guest numbers.
"As in previous years, in the first quarter of 2015 have sustained a more rapid growth than the rest of Turkey's aviation sector, reaching 40 per cent faster growth than the rest of the sector this quarter.
"As one of the main companies in the country's aviation sector, we are thrilled to assist more travellers to get where they want to go."
As of April 30th, Pegasus Airlines flies to 37 countries and a total of 91 destinations, including 31 in Turkey.
