Myanmar National Airlines Takes Delivery of Boeing Aircraft

Myanmar National Airlines and Boeing have celebrated the delivery of its first Next-Generation 737-800, an aircraft leased from the commercial aircraft-leasing arm GE, which is called Capital Aviation Services.

This marks the first all-new Boeing airplane to be delivered to an airline in Myanmar.

The 737 is the first to contain the carrier's new interior and livery and interior as the airline prepares to enhance its network outside Myanmar with this addition.

Myanmar National Airlines chief executive Than Tun, said: "Our new 737 will allow us to expand our network to international markets and offer passengers an improved travel experience."

"Investing in new technologies, new aircraft – such as the 737 – will ensure Myanmar National Airlines remains something our country can be proud of and also positions us in line for future success."

Previously known as Myanma Airways, Myanmar National Airlines, has the most extensive route network within Myanmar, serving more than 25 domestic locations, and is headquartered in Yangon.

Myanmar's flag carrier is also one of Asia's pioneering airlines, being founded in 1948 as Union of Burma Airways.
