MSC Cruises Debuts 'Cliffhanger,' A Unique Over-Water Swing Ride, on MSC World America

In an exciting announcement today, MSC Cruises unveiled 'Cliffhanger,' the first and only over-water swing ride at sea, scheduled to make its grand debut on MSC World America in April 2025. This thrilling ride will be a standout feature of the ship's Family Aventura district, perfectly designed for thrill-seekers looking for an adrenaline rush while cruising.

Cliffhanger offers a unique experience, with four seats that initially rest close to the deck before being lifted by powered arms high over the ship’s edge. Riders will swing back and forth, soaring 50 meters above the ocean, offering breathtaking views of the water and sky. This exhilarating ride promises to be a major attraction, combining adventure with stunning vistas.

MSC World America is poised to become MSC Cruises’ newest U.S. flagship, with its naming ceremony scheduled at PortMiami on April 9, 2025. The ship will feature seven distinct districts, each designed to offer unique atmospheres and experiences, catering to all ages and preferences. This structure enables guests to craft their own adventure-filled vacations while enjoying diverse onboard facilities.

For its inaugural season, MSC World America will embark from Miami on 7-night itineraries to top destinations in the Eastern and Western Caribbean, including stops at the exclusive Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in The Bahamas.

Environmental sustainability is a key focus for MSC World America, which operates on LNG—a lower-emission fuel—and incorporates facilities for renewable energy sources. The ship also features shore power connectivity, allowing it to reduce emissions by turning off engines while docked. Advanced onboard technology ensures efficient energy and water usage, and a comprehensive recycling program along with specially designed propellers minimize environmental impact and disturbance to marine life.

With its innovative attractions like the Cliffhanger and a commitment to sustainable cruising, MSC World America is set to offer guests not only a memorable vacation but also peace of mind about their environmental footprint.
