Moscow's New Ramenskoye Airport to Open in March

Moscow's fourth airport will open on March 15, according to Tomas Vaishvila, head of the Ramport airport management company, the Gazeta.ru news website reported


"The new airport will work 24 hours a day from March," Vaishvila said.


Ramenskoye Airport is expected to serve 50,000-60,000 passengers during its first month. Yearly passenger numbers are expected to reach 1.9 million, Gazeta.ru reported.


Russian Railways has confirmed future construction of a direct rail link to the airport, Vaishvila said.


The airport's management company will provide several other transport options to reach the airport, including a bus from the Kotelniki metro station that will run every 30 minutes, Gazeta.ru reported.
