Krabi, Thailand expects record-breaking numbers for upcoming high season

Hospitality
Experts in the tourism industry in Krabi, Thailand expect record-breaking numbers for the upcoming high season, which occurs between November and April. They attribute the expected increase of the number of tourists to the increased number of accommodations in the area, and the increase in airline flights now routed to Krabi.
Krabi is becoming more popular, not only because of its beautiful beaches, but because other, better-known areas like Phuket are overly crowded and losing appeal.
Krabi Province, along the southwest coast of Thailand on the Andaman Sea, is a lush region of tropical jungles, massive limestone cliffs, and approximately 132 offshore islands. The most popular areas are Ao Nang, Krabi Town, Railay Beach, Klong Muang, Ko Lanta, Ko Phi Phi, Trang and Klong Thom.
Tourists love the many attractions and activities that Krabi has to offer. Among them are rock climbing, island exploration, spelunking, scuba diving, touring Buddhist temples, kickboxing and fishing. There are a number of incredible restaurants, with practically every international cuisine represented. In addition, there are open-air markets that sell food, crafts, clothing and practical items.
Increased Airline Flights
Krabi is now attracting tourists from Malaysia, Singapore, China, India and Indonesia, where previously Krabi tourism was largely based on visitors from Scandinavia and other European countries. As a result, the airline industry has responded to Krabi’s increased popularity by scheduling more round-trip flights to Krabi’s relatively new International Airport and various points of origin.
AirAsia has new routes connecting China to Krabi, with flights originating in Guangzhou. This is in addition to the flights they added last year flying into Krabi from Singapore and Chiang Mai.
Joining AirAsia’s increase in flights are Malaysian airlines Firelfly, Bangkok Airways, and Tiger Airways. In addition, starting on December 10, 2014, Finish airlines Finnair will schedule flights to Krabi.
In the recent past, there has been an increase in the charter flights from Russia, Europe, and Australia.
Krabi Medical Care in Krabi, Thailand
A major concern for tourists when traveling is the quality of medical care available at their destination. Previously, anyone needing advanced medical treatment had to travel to Phuket or Bangkok. Now there is a new modern international hospital in Krabi Province, Krabi Nakharin, which opened in 2014. This is attracting retirees who need to feel medically secure when they travel.
Increased Accommodations
With more people traveling to Krabi, there is an increase in all types of accommodations to fulfill the demand. In addition to low-budget hotels, inns, bed and breakfasts and hostels, well-known international hotel consortiums have invested in building first-rate lodgings, including the 206-room Ibis Styles, boutique resorts, and villa rentals offering luxury accommodations.
Krabi Riviera Villas Vacation Homes
Responding to the need for more accommodations, Krabi, Thailand’s established villa management company, Krabi Riviera Co., Ltd., is offering six new vacation rental villas.
Amatapura 12 is one of the new vacation villas built on a private beach and is a five-minute drive to Krabi’s main tourist area, Ao Nang.
“Amatapura 12 is one of our most beautiful beachfront villas,” said Pierre-Yves Loriers, managing director of Krabi Riviera Villas. “It truly lives up to its name, ‘Amatapura,’ which means ‘eternal village’ in Sanskrit,” he continued.
Amatapura 12 accommodates up to eight adults, with its four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Outside the villa, guests can enjoy a patio, sun deck, Jacuzzi and private 43-square-meter saltwater pool. A garden stretches the full length of the 200 meter-wide Ao Nam Mao beachfront.
Some of the amenities in Amatapura 12 include high-speed wireless Internet throughout the property, daily maid services, and complimentary coffee, tea, and mineral water. There is also 24-hour security and off-street parking. Guests can arrange to rent a car or motorbike, or use Krabi Riviera’s tuk-tuk service for transportation to all areas of Krabi Province. The concierge is available 24/7 to help with any guest needs.
For booking and more information on this and other private villas, travelers can check out the company’s website.
With all the measured growth and development occurring in Krabi, Thailand, there is little doubt that the forecasters will be right on the money with their predictions. The 2014-2015 high season looks very encouraging for the Krabi tourism industry.
