Hilton and Uber expand business partnership

Hilton Worldwide has announced the expansion of its digital partnership with Uber, as a part of future mobile app technology development

The latest partnership enables Hilton HHonors members to order an Uber cab directly from the HHonors app, while Uber riders can access their hotel information via Uber app.

“The success of our Uber partnership is rooted in a shared passion for finding new ways to take friction out of travel. By further integrating our mobile apps, we’re simplifying the steps it takes for our Hilton HHonors members to obtain the quick information they seek, ultimately providing them with a better experience”, Rich DiStefano, senior director of Mobile Products at Hilton Worldwide, stated.

The Uber app can now pre-set the recommended destination hotel. While in the cab, customers can check-in and choose room number by using HHonors app. This way, the whole transportation and booking processes are simplified via integrated synced mobile apps.

Since the launch of the Hilton-Uber partnership last year, beginning with Local Scene and Ride Reminder services, 58 per cent of the hotel guests have used the apps to boost mobility and hospitality information access.

Following the success of Local Scene and Ride Reminder, we are taking an additional step forward in our integration by offering guests access to their stay details while they are in an Uber”, explained Jonathan DiOrio, head of travel partnerships at Uber.
