Hainan increases passenger capacity on UK-China air-route

Airline News

Manchester-Beijing route will welcome more passengers at Hainan Airlines; the decision was taken before official service launch

Hainan Airlines will provide four times a week flight services between Manchester and Beijing staring June 10th.

While at first an Airbus 330-200 was set to operate the route, the airline changed its decision and appointed a larger Airbus 330-300 to increase flight capacity between the two cities to 292 passengers, for both economy and business classes.

Staring service launch, Manchester will be the only UK airport outside of London that will operate direct flights to China.

Hainan Airlines' chairman Xie Haoming commented on the latest change:

“We are delighted to be able to increase the capacity on our flights to and from Manchester.

“It highlights just how committed Hainan Airlines is on making this route a success.

“After what has been an incredibly positive Chinese New Year, we are now all focused on the route commencing in June.

“We look forward to welcoming passengers from the North and I am sure our Chinese passengers cannot wait to come and visit Manchester and the wider region.”

The Manchester-Beijing route translates into more jobs and an increase in the British economy worth around £250 million.
