FIVE STAR LUXURY GUEST HOUSE, ESSENWOOD HOUSE JOINS AFRICAN INSIGNIA HOTELS PORTFOLIO

Durban, South Africa - June, 30 2013 – Thandekile Jessica Nhleko and Lerina McCall, the directors of African Insignia Hotels have pleasure in welcoming the Five Star Luxury Guest House, Essenwood House to their portfolio from 01 July 2013.

Built in 1924, Essenwood House was purchased by the present owners in 1996. After extensive alterations and renovations, it was opened as a Guest House in 1998 and has been under the same owner-management ever since.

With views of the city and Indian Ocean from high on Durban’s trendy Berea, the Guest House offers a memorable experience at surprisingly affordable rates. Peace and quiet surrounds you, and you will wake to the sounds of birds in the morning, and not traffic.

Its seven beautifully appointed spacious bedrooms have large bathrooms, with separate baths and showers. These include four rooms that have their own private veranda’s, of which three have private entrances.

Located minutes away from the Central Business District, International Convention Centre, Suncoast Casino, beaches, sports stadia, Ushaka Marine, shopping malls and restaurants the property enjoys rapid access to the N2, N3 and M4 to both Umhlanga and Umhlanga Business Park and Gateway Shopping experience as well as a host of attractive dining, shopping and entertainment options. Only 30 minutes from King Shaka International Airport.

Essenwood House is an ideal stop-over for travellers driving or flying in, whether to visit the Drakensberg or Game Reserves in the North, or vice versa on their way down South. There is no better way to experience Durban and all the attractions it has to offer than by spending some time in a magnificent home in a sub-tropical paradise.
