Finnair to Start New Helsinki - Edinburgh Service in 2016

Finnair will introduce a seasonal service from Edinburgh to Helsinki next year, in an attempt to offer traveller faster connections to the carrier's network of Asian destinations.

The thrice weekly services are scheduled to operate from April 18th 2016 up until October 27th 2016 onboard an Airbus A319.
Petri Vuori, Finnair's vice president of global sales, said: "The new Edinburgh route will open up travel to Finnair's extensive Asian network for Scottish passengers with short connection times at Helsinki Airport."

"Edinburgh Airport is seeing a constant growth in demand for international flights, recently announcing a 10.2 per cent growth year-on-year to July 2015 andy34 to welcoming these passengers on board Finnair," he added.

Finnair is the first airline to sign a contract for the A350 XWB in a move to considerably raise the bar for passenger comfort, operating efficiency and environmental impact.

Finnair is also the first airline worldwide to fly the A350 on scheduled services to China, where Shanghai will benefit from a daily A350 service from October 25th 2015, followed by Bangkok and Beijing, with Singapore and Hong Kong A350 services to be added in next year.

Edinburgh is one of four new destinations beginning next summer, with the launch of services from Helsinki to Pula, Croatia; Billund, Denmark; and also the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard in the Arctic Ocean.
