Brazil tourism benefits from the Fifa World Cup 2014
More than 14% increase in international flights towards Brazil has been registered this year, along with the FIFA World Cup 2014.
Numbers released by the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism show a significant increase in June and July, from 2300+ flights to 2600+, from the U.K. alone supplementing with more than 40.000 seats.
Region-wise, the most important increase has been registered from South America with a boost of more than 20%, from 1200+ to 1400+ flights.
The greater the rivalry, the more appealing the visit it seems, as the top ranking visiting countries were Argentina, Uruguay and Chile.
European flights have shown a 8.27% increase in Lisbon and a general status of 507 during the International sports event.
Passengers from Madrid have generated a 20% boost while those from Rome have supplemented the flights by 18%.
North America has also shown interest in the event with a 8.7% increase.
City-wise, Los Angeles takes the lead with 300% increase, Miami 20.46%, New York 7.29% while Atlanta has shown a 33% extended interest.
International sport events like the Fifa World Cup are a great opportunity for countries to show their standard in terms of tourism services. Brazil has managed to seize this opportunity, however, on-site reports show that there is more to invest in the infrastructure.
