Etihad Airways has joined forces with Brand USA, a destination-marketing organisation for the United States, a decision that comes to reaffirm the UAE carrier's commitment to enhance tourism from the USA.
Shane O'Hare, Etihad Airways Senior Vice President Marketing, said the United States is a beautiful country with a vibrant culture based on hard work, which makes it a popular destination and a wonderful addition to Etihad's network.
She added: "Last year, Etihad carried a total of 801,465 guests to and from the United States. The country is very sought by Emiratis for both leisure and business travelling, and it is a crucially important part of Etihad's growth plans.
Travellers can now access the Indian subcontinent and other regions in Asia easier and connect through Abu Dhabi onto our services to the USA. As the UAE's flag carrier, we are thrilled to partner up with Brand USA. We want to strengthen the ties between us and promote tourism, friendship and trade with the United States."
Etihad Airways flies to key US destinations such as Washington DC, New York JFK, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and Dallas Fort Worth.
Etihad Airways has agreed codeshare agreements with airlines such as JetBlue and American Airlines to expand its presence and network in the USA.
The U.S. Preclearance facility in Abu Dhabi has helped speed up processing by allowing Etihad Airways customers to clear US immigration and customs. Since it opened in January last year, CBP has helped process half a million passengers flying to the USA.
