Etihad is planning a set of measures for South African schedule
Etihad Airways is set on their strategy to further engage in the African market. Thus, changes to the schedule between Johannesburg and Abu Dhabi will occur as of October 26.
The measure has a double purpose as it does not only connect businesses and investment opportunities from Abu Dhabi to Africa but also provides a boosted route towards one of the world’s largest travel network hubs.
“The new schedule means that we are now able to provide daily departures, ensuring that our business and leisure travellers benefit from greater connectivity and flexibility when flying between South Africa and the UAE.” - Xenia Adamou, Etihad Airways’ General Manager, South Africa
This new Etihad schedule will significantly boost weekly flights between Johannesburg and some of the top locations in Asia. The carrier has shown similar interest in developing its business network with accents on Chengdu, Phuket and Singapore as well.
Etihad Airlines’ effort to increase their portfolio corroborated to other eastern ambitious projects, provides a clue on how Asian countries are keen on developing key locations in order to attract both tourism and business.
Expansion strategies are expected from major carriers in the following period, with special focus being set on both Asian and African markets. This will enable new business opportunities as well as a better travel schedule.
