Disneyland Paris Changed its Online Reservation System

Announcements

Disneyland Paris theme park changed its online ticket reservation system so as to not infringe the Community law on discrimination, the European Commission announced on Monday, writes DPA

Last year, the European Commission has examined several complaints from consumers that the Disneyland Paris charged different prices, depending on where the tourists came from.

Setting different prices for different markets is not illegal, in accordance with EU regulations, but companies must enable consumers in the 28 member states of the EU to compare the prices and to find the best, regardless of their nationality or place of residence.

The Commission did not disclose to the public which were the practices used by Disneyland Paris, but spokeswoman Lucia Caudete said on Monday that redirecting consumers to the national websites or to request payment to be effected through a specific card of the country are illegal.

EU sources said that in the last year the French citizens and residents paid less than their German,British or Italian counterparts, when bought tickets for Disneyland Paris, added DPA.
