London hosts this year's Destination Europe Summit at the Barbican Centre on October 29th

 

The European Travel Commission is a non-profit organization who promotes Europe as a tourist destination in third markets. ETC is part of the European National Tourist Organizations and ETOA, the Association for European Inbound tourism and it includes 33 members of National Tourism Organizations who cooperate to promote best tourism values and practices for Europe.

The joint conference on Europe as a touristic destination will take place at the Barbican Centre in the City of London on October 29th. The conference will focus on most important origin markets and will be led by Professor Tony Travers of the London School of Economics.

During the conference, the European Commission will present its priorities regarding Europe's tourism.  Questions about what European countries can do to be a part of “Destination Europe package” and subjects regarding tax regulations to increase tourism will also feature.

Also, speaker Gideon Rachman of the Financial Times will talk about Europe's image across the world.  Discussions about three source markets (the USA, China and Russia) and source markets' leading tourism operators will follow in the conference schedule.

Research about most profitable European destinations and most promising origin markets will be released on conference day in London.
