Carnival Cruise Line Adjusts Operations from Baltimore to Norfolk Amid Key Bridge Efforts

In response to the ongoing Key Bridge collapse in Baltimore Harbor, Carnival Cruise Line announces the temporary relocation of Carnival Legend’s operations to Norfolk, ensuring continued cruise service.

Carnival Cruise Line has announced a temporary shift in its operations due to the collapse of the Key Bridge in Baltimore Harbor, affecting local marine traffic. In a move to maintain its sailing schedule, the cruise line will relocate the Baltimore operations of Carnival Legend to Norfolk, Virginia, starting with its return on Sunday, March 31. This decision comes as rescue and cleanup efforts are underway in Baltimore, with Carnival Cruise Line expressing its support for the impacted families and first responders.

Carnival Legend, which is currently on a voyage, will dock in Norfolk instead of Baltimore upon its return. To accommodate guests affected by this change, Carnival will provide complimentary bus service back to Baltimore. The ship's upcoming seven-day itinerary, also starting on March 31, will operate from and conclude in Norfolk. Guests booked on the current and forthcoming cruises have been notified about these adjustments.

Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line, expressed gratitude towards President Biden's commitment to mobilizing resources for reopening Baltimore Harbor to marine traffic and acknowledged the swift support and cooperation from Norfolk officials in facilitating this temporary operational move. Carnival Cruise Line remains in close communication with authorities and will keep future cruise guests updated on when operations will resume in Baltimore.
