Car Rental & Rail

c2c Trenitalia unveils a refreshed June timetable featuring additional morning peak and expanded off-peak train services between Shoeburyness and London Fenchurch Street, enhancing commuter convenience.

In a significant update to its service offerings, the East London and South Essex railway operator, c2c Trenitalia, has announced an expansion in its train services effective from Sunday, 2 June 2024. The update introduces additional morning peak and off-peak trains, improving the connectivity between Shoeburyness and London Fenchurch Street.

Starting 2 June, the revised schedule will introduce two new morning peak services on weekdays from Shoeburyness/Leigh-on-Sea to Fenchurch Street. Moreover, the off-peak schedule will be bolstered with two extra trains every hour, enhancing service frequency in both directions between Fenchurch Street and Shoeburyness.

This adjustment means that several stations along the c2c route will now offer a more frequent, quarter-hourly service during off-peak times, translating to four trains per hour for commuters.

Highlighted Changes in the Timetable:

  • Peak Services: Notable additions include the 07:08 service from Leigh-on-Sea and the 07:45 service from Shoeburyness, both heading to London Fenchurch Street with stops at key stations.

  • Off-Peak Services: The introduction of additional services includes the 09:19 Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness service, with subsequent trains at 30-minute intervals during specific parts of the day, significantly increasing the number of off-peak options available.

c2c has made adjustments to some existing services to accommodate these new trains, ensuring a more efficient and responsive timetable to meet the needs of today's commuters.

Rob Mullen, c2c’s Managing Director, emphasized the company's commitment to adapting its services to reflect passenger needs and travel patterns. "The addition of these services is a direct response to our continuous assessment of passenger numbers and the demand for more frequent travel options," Mullen stated. He further highlighted the substantial increase in off-peak services, offering an additional 190 services each week, thereby greatly enhancing travel flexibility for c2c customers.

This update marks a significant step by c2c Trenitalia in its ongoing efforts to provide efficient, reliable, and convenient railway services to meet the evolving demands of its passengers.
