British Airways remodels Boeing 747 planes

Upgraded 747s will be introduced to the British Airways fleet, as the first new plane was presented last week


First of the 18 remodeled Boeing 747s was out last week, flying between Heathrow, London and Kennedy, New York airports.


Fresh cushions and coverings and new foam padding in the economy class, as well as a new Panasonic Avionics eX3 entertainment system were introduced on the plane flying to Boston, Chicago, Dubai, Kuwait City, Lagos, New York JFK or Riyadh.


Passengers will enjoy larger screens, higher resolution and more than 1300 hours of entertainment. USB ports and power outlets are now available for all seats.


The upgraded entertainment systems is also lighter, therefore this will also help the airline reduce costs for fuel.


Kathryn Doyle, British Airways’ aircraft cabin interiors manager declared: “Our customers love our new aircraft, but the 747s hold a special place in their heart, so we’re delighted to have been able to revamp these aircraft.”


This is the first of 18 Boeing 747s makeovers that will follow for British Airways planes.
