Boeing Opens Research And Technology Center In Alabama

Boeing has opened its new, cutting-edge, research and technology center in Alabama.
The facility was built to be the company's hub for collaborative technology development with academic institutions and research partners in analytics and simulation in southeast USA.
Boeing's CTO, John Tracy, was accompanied by local government leaders and employees at the center's opening. The enormous 80,000 square feet facility is larger than a football field and includes laboratories and offices that are dedicated to the phases of creation and development of technologies for existing and future Boeing products.
Steve Swaine, leader of the Boeing Research & Technology-Alabama research canter declared on the occasion: "The next 100 years of innovation starts here."
"We've gathered a team comprising of the best and brightest minds in data analytics, advanced engineering and several other disciplines to help Boeing create, develop, produce and support the absolute best aerospace products in the world."
The 220 engineers will have the job of continuously modernizing and improving Boeing's products by simulating and analyzing technology development. They will also develop a variety of other technologies for current and future Boeing services and products.
Boeing's research and technology development is conducted at 11 Boeing research centers in locations including Alabama, California, Missouri, South Carolina and Washington in the United States. The other centers are in Australia, China, India, Russia, Europe and Brazil.
Alabama is quickly becoming the space and flight headquarters of the south-east, if not the country, with several top companies deciding to open facilities in the area: Boeing, NASA, Airbus in Mobile, United Launch Alliance and several other aerospace contractors around Huntsville.
