Boeing expects cargo traffic to increase considerably
Airline News
Boeing has announced that their expectancy for freight traffic is high as the annual rate is of 4.7% increase. This means that by 2033, this sector should double.
Boeing has released the current data during the biennial World Cargo Forecast held at the International Air Cargo Forum and Exhibition.
“We see strong signs of a recovery as air freight traffic levels continue to strengthen after several years of stagnation,”
“The air cargo market is now growing at nearly the long-term rates.” - Randy Tinseth, vice president of marketing, Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
The international air cargo traffic has shown signs of increase during the second quarter of 2013. This year, the increase has been considerable with 4.4% in comparison to the same period last year.
This current trend could set 2014 as the most prolific growth year since 2020 in this sector.
As the international crisis has passed the growth indicators should stay on a rising trend for the following years, with Boeing anticipating the doubling of its current flow by 2033.
The most traffic volume is expected to stay on the North America and Euro-Asian course for the following period as well.
This boost of freight traffic will also naturally translate into a boosted airplane construction program world wide.
