Amadeus unveils new technology to help airlines
Traffic disruptions due to bad weather or air traffic congestion will be monitored via Amadeus new technology
Schedule Recovery service analyzes traffic data to identify serious issues that airlines can confront and also improves traffic efficiency, in real time.
Three integrated modules, Airport Resource Tracker, Schedule Manager and Schedule Optimiser, enable carriers to ease airport capacity issues, to improve interaction with air traffic control and decide delaying or canceling of flights, change airport gates, aircraft or landing slots, in case of difficult situations.
The Schedule Recovery new travel technology aims to improve the “quality of decisions” while considering operational costs and passengers' comfort, as head of operations Paul Fraser declares: “The Amadeus solution helps reduce the number of and length of delays, whether due to excessive traffic, operational delays, or weather conditions, leading to an overall improved experience for travelers.”
Amadeus head of travel intelligence Pascal Clement adds that Schedule Recovery will help airlines with better management of disruptions: “It drives a more integrated view of operations and ensures airlines can assess all aspects of the costs associated with any operations control decisions.”
The real-time data technology can be integrated with any passenger service system and also can directly help passengers via a mobile app.
According to Amadeus Airline Merchandising Conference report in June, air traffic disruptions affected more than 600 million passengers, while the airlines management costs rise to $450 million.
