Airbnb is offering a night in Dracula’s Castle, Bran

News

For the first time since 1948, two guests will have the opportunity to sleep in Dracula's castle. The online platform Airbnb and the Bran Domain Administration Company offer an overnight stay for two in the Bran Castle on the night of October 31 following a competition that had been held internationally.

The winners will share an unforgettable experience. They will reach the Bran Castle in a carriage, will enjoy a delicious meal and sleep in coffins adorned with luxurious velvet. And if that is not enough, they will be welcomed into the castle by Dacre Stoker, great-grandson of the author Bram Stoker, who wrote the novel Dracula in 1897. Also, tourists can visit all 57 rooms of Bran Castle.

The winners must also abide by a set of rules unique to their Dracula-themed trip — specifically, a ban against garlic or any “garlic-scented items,” no silver jewelry or holy symbols, and absolutely no mirror selfies. The guests are also required to close all curtains before sunrise.

The competition is held on the Airbnb platform where those who want to enter the competition have to explain in a short paragraph what would they say to Count Dracula if they meet him in his castle. The answer must be between 50 and 550 characters and can be written in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian or Portuguese or between 100 and 300 characters in Chinese, Japanese or Korean. The text must be sent up until October 26. Participants must be over 18 years. The residents that unfortunately can not participate in the competition are from Cuba, Crimean region, North Korea, Syria, Iran, Sudan. The price of the prize reaches 3,000 euros. Also, transportation is not covered for winners to come in Romania.
