Air France pilots are still on strike

Airline News
About 25% of Air France pilots have been participating in a strike on Saturday, according to the company, while the main pilots’ union declared that 70% of drivers stopped working, as Reuters and The Associated Press inform. "Our mobilization is good," told for Reuters Mistrali Emmanuel, a spokesman of the union.

Still, Air France Chairman and CEO Frédéric Gagey assured on Saturday morning that the pilots’ level of participation in the strike is not 70%, as it was mentioned by Syndicat National des Pilotes de Ligne (SNPL). Moreover, the Air France Chairman said on Thursday that the strike would cost the airline about 5 million euros ($5.65 million) each day and has assured, in an intervention on RTL, that the door is "closed by definition", "but I will not renegotiate that which can not be negotiated," he added. "Air France is progressing. Let’s not spoil the party," he urged.

Air France officially declared in a press release that on Saturday it was operating 83% of flights—93% of the long-haul flights from Paris, 91% of its domestic flights and 73% of its medium-haul flights to and from Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport. The National airline company said it would strive to ensure minimal disruption to flights serving cities hosting Euro 2016 soccer matches.

Air France Company has asked all its passengers to check their flight status before travelling. The pilots' strike coinciding with Euro 2016 has already caused the annulment of an important number of flights.
