Air Europa Introduces First Dreamliner Service on Madrid-Miami Route

Travel Business
Air Europa, Spain's first and biggest privately owned airline, launched its first service with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which will be dispatched on the Madrid-Miami route.

This service is presently scheduled five times weekly and will become a daily service beginning July.

The Dreamliner is Boeing's most recent model and will reduce the flight time on the Madrid-Miami route by 40 minutes while also offering a new option for travellers between tourist and business classes: Premium Economy.

The new Dreamliner aircraft has 252 seats, 21 of which are in the new Premium Economy Class and 18 are fully convertible into beds.

Air Europa plans to introduce eight new Boeing 787 Dreamliners into its fleet in the next two years, with the first four expected to join the Spanish carrier by the end of 2016.

The airline also announced that it has placed an order for an additional 14 Dreamliners, which means Air Europa will have 22 operational Dreamliners by 2022, when it will completely replace its long haul fleet of A330s with the state of the art aircraft.

"Introducing the Dreamliner on our route to Miami is just the beginning for us. Our investment of more than $3.5billion truly is a game changer that allows us to offer travellers the very best product in the sky while continuing to offer exceptional support to our passengers and great customer service." said Colin Stewart, UK general manager, Air Europa.
