Turkish hoteliers to give up all-inclusive system

World Security
The famous all-inclusive Turkish system began to be an increasingly ineffective choice in terms of earnings

So, according to Hurriyet Daily News quoting hospitality and finance specialists, Turkey should give up such deals that are now to be found in most tourist complexes in the Mediterranean shores.

Turkish Travel Agencies Association (TÜRSAB) President Basaran Ulusoy said the all-inclusive system has led to a vicious cycle in the sector. “As this system is, by its nature, attractive for cost-savvy tourists, such hotels cannot raise their prices, although their costs are increasing year by year. The commonness of the system in Turkey has had a diminishing factor over the sector revenue. What we should do is decrease the number of all-inclusive hotels in a gradual manner,” he declared.
“We also need to accelerate our efforts to diversify our tourism and extend our season to 12 months, rather than just the spring and summer months,” he added.
He stated that the diversification of tourism products should be made on the basis of extending the tourist season to 12 months and attracting wealthy visitors through luxury packages.
In the context of tensions between Turkey and Russia, but also because of the threat of terrorist attacks, representatives of the tourism sector expect to register this year the most disastrous season in a decade and a half. Also, experts fear that this season is just the beginning of a series of massive losses for Turkish hoteliers.
