Tourism Expo scheduled in Kasane next week
The exposition aims to connect local industry players with global travel industry companies to close new business partnerships for Botswana
‘Tourism works for Botswana’ will be the main theme of this year's Botswana Travel and Tourism Exposition (BTTE), organized by the Botswana Tourism Organization (BTO).
The event provides unique strategic networking opportunities for Botswana's tourism to achieve new objectives and reach new international markets, targeting the sector's expansion and growth for the year to come. The BTTE event will also feature workshops on tropical tourism and e-commerce, focusing on strategies to make the country's tourism industry a globally competitive one.
126 exhibitors will attend this year’s exposition, which include 90 local operators and 36 international exhibitors. Among them, players from USA, UK and Australia will be present at Kasane's event. For the future, the organizers want to extend their invitation to Latin America and South Africa.
Thabo Dithebe, the BTO chief executive officer, commented:
“From this strictly business to business exposition, we have divided the tour operators from the international markets into two groups; the first one will arrive before the event to explore the country while the other one will go after the exposition because we want to familiarize them with our product.
“This strategy seeks to increase our share in existing and traditional markets while expanding our foot print to cover new markets.”
